SEVEN LAYERS, ONE POSTURE
Security Built In, Not Bolted On.
Every NexGenomics deployment inherits the same seven-layer security architecture — from physical asset security up through executive oversight. No layer is optional, and no layer is unique to a single product.
The Seven Layers.
| Layer | Name | What It Secures |
|---|---|---|
| 7 | Executive Governance & Assurance | Enterprise oversight, policy intent, risk acceptance, and continuous assurance across every business unit. |
| 6 | Identity, Agent & Tenant Governance | Human and non-human identity, agent credentialing, role- and attribute-based access, tenant boundaries. |
| 5 | Policy & Access Governance | Who — and what — can access which data, under what conditions, and to what extent. |
| 4 | Consequence & Risk Validation | Every proposed and executed action validated against consequence models and risk thresholds before it runs. |
| 3 | Application & Agent Runtime | The secure runtime environment applications and AI agents actually operate within, bounded by defined constraints. |
| 2 | Network & Communication | Data in motion, secured across every environment it crosses. |
| 1 | Physical & Asset Security | Physical assets, control systems, and environmental conditions — where applicable to the deployment. |
Each layer produces its own evidence trail — governance workflows, access logs, policy decision records, runtime activity logs — feeding a single, cryptographically signed, immutable audit ledger.
Multi-Tenant Isolation.
Every deployment — single enterprise or multi-tenant MSSP/MSP environment — is boundary-isolated by default. Tenant data, tenant policy, and tenant evidence never cross a boundary that wasn't explicitly authorized. This is the same guarantee whether the deployment serves one enterprise customer or a partner's entire book of business.
What This Replaces.
Traditional security architectures bolt governance onto infrastructure after the fact — a compliance layer added once something needs to pass an audit. NexGenomics inverts that: every layer produces governance evidence as a byproduct of normal operation, not as a separate project.
| Traditional approach | NexGenomics approach |
| Periodic audits, point-in-time snapshots | Continuous, cryptographically signed evidence |
| Compliance mapped after deployment | Compliance native to the architecture |
| Access reviewed on a schedule | Access evaluated on every request |
